Chemical characterization of olivine from high porphyritic magma

Phosphorus WDS x-ray map in an olivine representing the magma produced by Stromboli (Aeolian magmatic arc).
The dense zoning in phosphorus allows easy recognition of these olivines from high porphyritic magma (which do not show any zoning in Mg or Ca) and to distinguish them from those coming from low porphyritic magma.
